1-day CEEL Training Introduction Program

This in-person program is experiential, engaging, interactive, and informative –
a very small taste of the CEEL training
(many past participants even say life-changing)!

Overview

This program is designed for mental health workers, counselors, psychotherapists, body workers, coaches, teachers … people who are interested in including horses in the process of human development and healing.

This modality can also be integrated into your practice – even if you don’t have or plan to work with horses. Horses provide a safe, energetic container that will exponentially enhance your learning. 

In this ‘taster program’ participants will gain an understanding of the depth and power of this form of equine therapy* and be able to see a path forward that builds their skills, knowledge, and experience so they are confident and ready to step into, or step up their work.

In this program participants will:

• Experience the power of the horses to create safety and down-regulate their nervous systems
• Gain a deeper understanding of what trauma is, how it affects our health and ability to create meaningful lives
• Learn how trauma responses are predictable and how complete recovery can be facilitated
• Learn about our somatic approach to trauma
• Learn about the stress response and how to work within a ‘window of tolerance’
• Learn more about the horses’ role and contribution
• Learn how to work with and clear unprocessed emotions
• Observe and/or participate in demonstrations
• Learn about the ‘prevent response’
• Learn about the 4 hallmarks of trauma and how to use that as a framework to support clients and maintain safety.
